Masks are considered to be the most important art form of the Dan people of Liberia. The Dan people refer to these masks as gle- a term that refers to both the physical mask and the individual spirits the mask is believed to embody during masquerade performances.
Sacred Shank is a species of very large sea snail that occurs only in the Indian Ocean. The Shell has considerable significance in Hinduism and Buddhism. It is considered to be sacred and is one of the Eight Auspicious Symbols.
